Abuja—Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, General Paul Boroh (retd),  has called on the youths to embrace peace and unity for the collective progress of the country.

Boroh disclosed this at a meeting with the youths of Niger Delta and North in Abuja.

He explained that the meeting was to help create a synergy between youths from the two groups with a further target of uniting youths from every part of the country.

Boroh called on the youths present to spread the word of peace to all their friends and colleagues, urging them to avoid being idle, while also recommending agriculture as the easiest way to staying occupied and self sufficient.

In his reaction, leader of the delegation of Northern Youths, and Speaker of the Arewa Youth Parliament, Dr. Mulid Bashir, said: “The Northern region is fully committed to the unity of Nigeria. I call on everybody to disregard any hate speech from any source.  All those actions are being sponsored by very few persons who want chaos in the current administration.”

He called on his brothers from other regions to join him in spreading the word of peace across the country.

The meeting was attended by some ex agitators from the Niger Delta region and officials of the Presidential Amnesty office.
